Had my eye on this ensemble since its release and managed to snag one in the sales. It is as divine as I expected. There is no scrimping in the amount of good quality fabric used in these garments, the dress and caplet are well made and with a few minor tweeks (I'm very short so the upper bodice is too long for me, but easily remedied being a seamstress) will look amazing on.

This dress was perfect in every way. Lots of compliments! The color really accentuated my blue eyes almost making them look green. I really love the fact that it has pockets. It’s so incredibly comfortable too. The fabric is perfection. I felt gorgeous in it. We had a victorian/Edwardian ball in my town and I fit right in.

I got so many compliments wearing this out. It’s so comfortable and flattering and practical. Wore it with a thin petticoat to balance out the capelet and shoulders. The site says the shell is 75% cotton, but the tag says it’s all polyester and spandex, and I prefer natural fabrics, so that’s disappointing. Still, I might get this in black! Slightly loose on me, particularly about the shoulders, but not to the point of needing to exchange it.

I was a little worried it wouldn’t fit because my chest was between sized but my waist wasn’t; Thankfully it was perfectly well, I ordered down just like they said and I loved it so so much!! It’s such a comfortable dress and I’m totally going to be wearing it out!!

Didn't meet expectations. I got it in xs, it fits more like a medium. Disappointing. Shoulders are too big and kept falling down, also loose in the waist. The capelet doesn't fit right, too much fabric in the neck area, i look swallowed up. Quite bummed.

This dress is phenomenal. It is SO comfortable and so beautiful. It is literally the dress I've always wanted!
I followed the instructions and sized down to an XL- my measurements are 45"-36"-47". It fits very well. The cape is unreal -just so beautiful and so well-designed, it really sits on your shoulders, the collar stands up to hide my double chin and it does not itch or hurt anywhere.
I have thoughts about the design of course - I am an hourglass figure with big lipedema arms, and modern style Leg of Mutton sleeves tend to come in at the bicep. While the fabric is stretchy, the classic flaring to the elbow would be more flattering for us bigger girls. I feel the same way about my Sleepy Hollow dress in the lace-front Betsey-homage style, and it's why I haven't bought the black velour one.
I also don't love the gathering at the natural waist of so many La Femme dresses - I thought this one would have more of a dropped waist, but it fits neatly enough at the waist I don't mind.
Overall, I am incredibly grateful and glad to have this dress, bought for my 57th birthday on Jan. 8!

I love the color, quality and style of the dress. However, I think it runs large. I’m usually a small or xsmall, so I ordered an xs and it’s still a little big around the waist and bust. Still an awesome dress though!

I love this dress and find myself excited for winter for once! The color is amazing. The only caveat is that the zipper is a little finicky because of how thick the fabric is.

Fits exactly as the chart described! The fabric feels like a good weight and not thin or cheap. I was worried there would be bits that might itch or scratch but that's not the case! The fabric is so soft and feels like butter on the skin. It also has lots of room to stretch or get tailored if needed and seems to be sewn pretty sturdy.
As for the overall look. I am over the moon! They outdone themselves replicating Lucille's dress. I ran to my art book to compare the differences and am so excited how close it matches the original piece. This collection is a must for the nerds who obsess over the costuming in the film! I'm so happy I can have a piece of my own in my house that's not too identical to an Edwardian gown and still wearable for a night out in hopes other admirers recognize my nod to my favorite film. A 10/10!
