The initial look was intended to reduce the sets to artful configurations of shadows and light akin to the German expressionism found in early silent films while pouring the art budget into elaborately designed costumes.

There would be no collection for us to pay tribute to if it wasn’t for the brilliant costuming of the film. The designs brought an “east meets west” homage to one of the most stunning costumed movies in cinema history. The goal was to convey the continual transformation of Dracula. By showcasing unique distinct costumes, a visually stunning story for Dracula was created that is full of depth and is conceptually in contrast to other on-screen renditions. Through the costumes, Dracula became a character we could sympathize with.
